Thomas Deml, Martina Guttenberger, Myself

The Vesper/Sperry Scramble was brought together at the last minute by Project Manager Thomas.  It was a perfect July day and the lower meadows offered us an abundance of salmonberries and blueberries.  Vesper Peak's scramble is an easy Class 2 ascent from the basin lake.  We followed trail until we hit the upper rock slabs.  From there, it was an easy to access the summit.  We descended to the north saddle that connected Vesper and Sperry and ascended to the northwest ridge of Sperry via the route shown here.  Class 3.

Martina.

I found this spider amidst the rocks carrying an eggsack (blue) on its abdomen. I must have stunned the creature with my flash.
